Road closures for a walk fundraiser, a 10-kilometre run down Yonge Street, and TTC maintenance will make getting around Toronto a little more difficult on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend events kick off with Meagan's Walk on Saturday.

The memorial walk honours a five-year-old girl who died of a brain tumour in 2001 and raises money for research into prediatric brain tumours.

Meagan's Walk begins at Ontario Place and ends at The Hospital for Sick Children on University Avenue.

The walk will be on sidewalks, but there may be delays as the 4,000 participants cross roads.

There will also be road closures where the walk ends on Elizabeth Street, between Gerrard Street and Elm Street.

The bigger event, however, is the Sporting Life 10K Run on Sunday, which starts just north of Eglinton Avenue and heads straight down Yonge Street. The route heads west on Richmond Street, and along Front Street and Bathurst Street, before finishing at Fort York Boulevard.

Approximately 25,000 runners are expected to participate.

There will be rolling road closures along the route, beginning near the start line at 5 a.m. The entire event is expected to wrap up by 12:30 p.m.

There are also TTC delays planned for the weekend, with track-work closing subway service on the Bloor-Danforth line between Warden and Kennedy stations.

Shuttle buses will be running every two to four minutes.

There will also be delays along the east section of the 501 Streetcar, as shuttle buses move passengers between Leslie and the Neville Loop due to ongoing track repairs.
