Hundreds of Foo Fighters fans braved frigid temperatures in Toronto on Saturday morning for their chance to score concert tickets.
Rather than sit at home and wait for online sales, fans did it the old-fashioned way: They lined up at the Molson Amphitheatre in downtown Toronto for tickets to the award-winning rock band’s 2015 Toronto date.
To reduce the chances of diehard fans missing out, the Foo Fighters gave the first crack at their upcoming North American tour to those willing to show up in person at a box office on Saturday.
They called the special sales “Beat the Bots” -- a reference to the computer programs that scalpers use to scoop up large numbers of tickets as soon as they go on sale.

The sale at the Molson Amphitheatre didn’t officially start until 9 a.m., but many eager fans lined up earlier.

Those who lined up were allowed to buy one or two floor tickets, or up to four seat tickets, to the Toronto show on July 9, 2015.
Fans who didn’t make it on Saturday may still be able to snag tickets after online sales start on Dec. 1.
Three other Canadian cities are on the tour so far: Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.
In Calgary on Saturday, nearly 2,100 Foo Fighters fans lined up for tickets at a Beat the Bots sale in that city.
The Foo Fighters, formed in 1994 and fronted by Dave Grohl, have won dozens of awards, including four Grammys for Best Rock Album.
