York Region police have arrested three men and issued a Canada-wide warrant for another man in connection with the beating death of a man at a Markham karaoke bar.

Long Sha, 19, of Whitby, died in hospital over the weekend from head injuries suffered during a beating at MHQ Karaoke Box in the Pacific Mall. The suspects allegedly used microphones during the vicious attack.

Another 20-year-old Richmond Hill man suffered minor injuries in the Wednesday night attack. Police said the two victims were confronted by several men brandishing two handguns.

The warrant has been issued for 19-year-old Peng (Victor) Li of Toronto, who is wanted for first-degree murder.

Three other Toronto man surrendered to police and have been charged with first-degree murder. They are:

  • Salman Qteifan, 18;
  • Andrew Cantelon, 19; and
  • Peijian (Steven) Shi, 18.

Investigators are encouraging three other suspects to seek legal advice and turn themselves in.
