Toronto police have identified a man killed last week and are asking for the public's help finding a suspect seen fighting with the victim before he died.

Officers found Gerard Telesford, 44, at the building at 65 Greenbrae Circuit, near Markham Road and Lawrence Avenue East, at about 2:30 a.m. on Friday.

Telesford was found unconscious and suffering form serious head injuries. He died at hospital.

An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be "ischemic heart disease in a man with blunt impact facial trauma." Telesford is the city's 15th homicide of 2007.

Investigators are looking for a man seen fighting with Telesford in the apartment lobby. Images were captured on surveillance cameras and released to the public.

Police believe the suspect may live in The Beach or frequent the area. He may also regularly visit commercial establishments in the Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue East area.

Investigators also believe a taxi driver who dropped off a fare at the time of the altercation may also have picked up the suspect.
