Toronto police have released new photos of an abandoned infant in hopes it will lead to tips on her identity.

The photos of the smiling eight-month-old baby, who has been named Angelica-Leslie by the Children's Aid Society, were taken on Friday.

A CAS official said the infant is doing very well in the care of foster parents.

Angelica-Leslie was found in the cold stairwell of a North York plaza on Jan. 30. She had been in the spot for several hours and there were signs of abuse, officials said.

Investigators have appealed to the public several times in hopes of finding the girl's parents and identifying the baby. So far, no one has been able to identify the infant.

CAS officials named her Angelica-Leslie because she "looks like an angel" and was found on Leslie Street.

Earlier this month, police expanded their search and sent pictures and information about the child to more than 1,200 crime-fighting organizations across North America.

Police say it's unusual no one has come forward to identify the girl, leading them to believe she may be a U.S. resident.

The clothes Angelica-Leslie was wearing when found have been sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for analysis.
