A trust fund has now been set up for a baby girl found abandoned in a North York stairwell last week.

The Children's Aid Society says it has received many requests from people who want to donate to the eight-month old child's well-being.

People can donate to the trust fund by going to any CIBC branch and asking to contribute to the Angelica Leslie fund.

Angelica Leslie is the name given to the child by CAS until police can track down her parents and find out her identity. The baby was found last Wednesday afternoon abandoned in a stairwell of a shopping plaza in the Leslie Street and Finch Avenue area.

At a court hearing Monday, the baby was officially put under the temporary custody of the Toronto branch of the CAS.
