Officers are investigating after a smoke bomb went off at a high school in Whitby on Monday morning.

The Whitby Fire Department said a call came in around 11:30 a.m. after smoke was seen coming from the cafeteria at Brooklin High School, located at Baldwin Street and Carnwith Drive.

The fire department asked Durham police for assistance and evacuated the school.

There have been no injuries or arrests. Police remain at the school to investigate but are treating the incident as a prank.
