A person of interest is in custody in connection to the shooting death of a Toronto teenager, Jamaican police said.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Hunts Bay Police said that Omar James, also known as "Judge" turned himself into police the previous night.
James was listed as a person of interest following the shooting death of 14-year-old Ricardo Williams, from Scarborough, on Sunday, Aug. 30.
Williams had been attending a wake in St. Andrew, an area just west of downtown Kingston. Police said shots rang out at approximately 1:50 a.m., and Williams was found suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
