NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. - Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty insists he doesn't want to lead the federal Liberals, despite persistent speculation that he'll seek the job.
The buzz grew louder this week when McGuinty's own brother, Ottawa MP David McGuinty, said the Ontario premier would be a good choice for the position.
David says his brother's third straight election win is one of the reasons why the federal Liberals may turn to him.
The comments forced the premier to again deny he had any ambitions beyond leading the province.
In a speech to the party faithful, McGuinty quickly quashed the idea.
He says he loves his country, but is committed to his province and his party.
McGuinty has repeatedly denied over the last few weeks that he'll seek the federal Liberal leadership, even taking to Twitter to make sure the message got out.
