TORONTO - Ontario's health minister says she's concerned there's no commitment in the federal Conservative budget for long-term funding for health care.

Deb Matthews says the budget was a missed chance to signal that the Harper government was willing to hammer out a new 10-year accord with the provinces.

The Tories promised during the spring election to boost health-care spending by six per cent for at least two years after the current agreement expires in 2014.

But Matthews says the provinces need a longer commitment in order to make long-term plans that would keep rising costs down.

She says the Tories didn't pay much attention to Ontario in the budget.

Matthews says Ontario was shortchanged on immigrant settlement funding or to support the province's clean energy initiatives.
