HALIFAX - Nova Scotia is sending a crew to northern Ontario to help battle forest fires.
Nova Scotia's Department of Natural Resources says 21 firefighters will leave Thursday for a two-week deployment.
The aid comes in response to a request from the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre to help control and extinguish the Ontario fires.
Nova Scotia has had a relatively quiet fire season so far this year.
The firefighters will be working 12-hour shifts and living in tents for the duration.
