One man is in hospital after receiving a single stab wound to the chest Sunday morning.

Police responded to a call at a home on Parsell Square near Neilson Road and Sheppard Avenue East around 8:15 a.m.. When they arrived, officers found a 51-year-old man suffering from a stab wound.

The victim was rushed to Sunnybrook hospital, reportedly in serious condition.

Police at the scene were told that three men were seen leaving in a small silver-coloured car. One was carrying a gun while the other two were carrying knives.

"There were other people in the home," Staff Sgt. Peter Dolamore told the Toronto Star. "We're speaking to those people now."
