Police in Hamilton are investigating a hit and run early Saturday that left a 40-year-old Stoney Creek man dead.
Authorities got a call about an accident on Chestnut Avenue at around 2 a.m. They found the man lying on the ground. Police believe a car hit him as he was trying to cross the street.
Several streets in the area were closed overnight as police investigated. A car wash in the area was also roped off. Authorities believe the suspected driver went there after the accident.
Hamilton police are asking witnesses to call them with information.
