Police say a Toronto woman who went missing nearly a year ago may have been involved in a deadly love triangle.
Hatice Corbacioglu, 32, hasn't been seen since she went to New York last June to visit her boyfriend.
Her family has since found out that her boyfriend was in fact married.
The man's wife was murdered. Her body was found last week, stuffed in a plastic bag at a steel factory where the man used to work.
Corbacioglu was madly in love and wanted to marry 29-year-old Riza Cosa, her family told CTV Toronto on Wednesday.
"(She) told us that he's a good guy, a hard worker," her sister Aysel Corbacioglu said.
The woman's family became worried after they didn't hear from her.
They accused Cosa of giving them the runaround and said they eventually found out the man was married.
Cosa bought a one-way ticket to his native country Turkey last July. Police in Toronto, the U.S. and Turkey have not been able to find him since.
Corbacioglu's family says they won't give up their quest to find answers. The woman's father travelled to New York and Turkey to distribute posters with a photograph of his daughter and her boyfriend.
"We want to know if she's alive or dead," her sister said.
Corbacioglu is described as a white woman, about 5'2" and 130 lbs. with brown eyes and long, black shoulder-length hair. She has a small scar on her left cheek.
Her vehicle was last seen at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City on Sunday, June 21, 2009.
