A 17-year-old man has died after being stabbed outside an east-end bar early Friday morning.

Police responded to a call for a fight at the Beaver and the Firkin bar in the Lebovic and Eglinton avenues area at about 12:20 a.m.

When officers arrived, they were told the suspect had fled. The victim was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until his next of kin has been notified.

He becomes the city's eighth homicide of 2007.

The suspect is believed to have left the scene with a woman in a taxi.

The man is described as East Indian, 25 years old, 6-foot-2, weighing 190 pounds. He has a goatee.

The woman is described as white with red hair.
