A Toronto family is heartbroken after they discovered their new puppy was stolen in a home invasion.
Isabella had been with the family for just six weeks but she was taken from the Spadina Road and Bloor Street home at some point on Sunday.
Police say the burglars were able to enter the home through a window. They escaped with a few household goods, including a teenage boy's collection of Michael Jordan sneakers.
The family also reported all of their phones except one missing.
Carlie Ritch, a single mom, said she and her son saved up all their money to get the 10-week-old doberman pup.
"This (puppy) is a family member, why would someone do that?" she told CTV Toronto, fighting back tears. "What are they going to do with this animal? Where is it going? Is it going somewhere where someone will take care of it or is it going to someone that's going to farm it?"
They are putting up posters around the neighbourhoood hoping someone will spot the dog. They are also hoping police will catch up to the thieves with fingerprint evidence.
