A Toronto police constable has been charged in connection with the assault of a man who was being booked into police custody.

Police say that at 3:47 a.m. on Friday a man was arrested by police and taken to the 41 Division station at 2222 Eglinton Ave. E.

While at the station, the man was allegedly assaulted by the officer tasked with booking him into custody.

Const. Matthew Glen, 32, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Glen has 10 years of service. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Sept. 12.
