Toronto police say they have arrested a suspect in connection with a number of sexual assaults in the Black Creek Parklands area.

However, they said Thursday that no charges have been laid yet against the individual.

The arrest came one day after police issued an alert about a number of sexual assaults in the area located northwest of Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road.

Police alleged a man would follow women. As they walked into a clearing, he would approach them from behind, make inappropriate sexual comments and then sexually assault them, police alleged Wednesday in a news release.

Four attacks were said to have occurred since September, with all occurring between noon and 7 p.m.

Police said the suspect was "known to ride a disheveled-looking mountain bike."
