MARKDALE, Ont. -- Provincial police say six people have been taken to hospital after a wooden deck collapsed in Markdale, Ont.
Police say a neighbour called 911 after it happened Tuesday night at a second storey apartment in the community 40 kilometres southeast of Owen Sound.
Four adults and two children, ranging from 38 to two years in age and all from the same family, were on the deck when it collapsed inward towards the brick wall of the building.
It turned upside down and came to rest against the wall.
All the victims were taken to Markdale Hospital. A four-year-old boy was transferred by air ambulance to hospital in London, Ont.
Police and the Grey Highlands building inspector are investigating.
