Do you have any lottery tickets hanging around the house?

There are two unclaimed Lotto 6-49 winning tickets that are both worth a million dollars that are about to expire, CTV News has learned.

One of the winning tickets was sold in Markham on October 22, 2014 and the other in downtown Toronto on November 8, 2014. The tickets expire one year from the lottery draw.

According to the OLG, more than 200,000 thousand people purchase winning tickets every year and never pick up the prize.

The unclaimed prizes for national draws like Lotto 6-49 and Lotto Max go back into the prize pot, but unclaimed prizes for regional games like Lottario go into government sectors like education and health care.
