A 10-month-old boy remained in critical condition in hospital overnight after being pulled from a backyard pond in Mississauga.
Peel Police said the boy was found without vital signs at a home on Glen Erin Drive, near the Erin Mills Parkway north of Highway 403, at around 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Emergency responders were able to get a faint pulse from the infant and worked to stabilize him for several hours.
The child was transported by Ornge air ambulance to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children at around 9 p.m.
Police said the child was still in critical condition as of 3 a.m. Friday morning.
Officers have concluded their investigation and say the incident was not suspicious.
