York Regional Police are appealing to the drivers of three vehicles to come forward with any information on a two-car collision in Newmarket on Monday.

Police said a silver Dodge Avenger, a Honda CRV and a white SUV all stopped at the scene of an accident at Davis Drive and Prospect Street. They are asking for the occupants of the vehicles to contact them with any information that could help the on-going investigation.

A Hyundai Santa Fe was travelling eastbound on Davis Drive when it struck a Honda Civic going north on Prospect at around 4:50 p.m.

The 26-year-old male driver of the Civic was brought to a Toronto trauma centre in serious condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police have not released his name, but they say he lived in Newmarket. The 46-year-old Whitchurch-Stouffville woman driving the SUV was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7704, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
