A woman is in hospital after she was struck by a car in Toronto and reportedly thrown about six metres by the impact on Monday evening.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was hit by a car at approximately 9 p.m. on King Street West, near Jameson Avenue.

She was rushed to a nearby trauma centre hospital with a serious, life-threatening head injury, Toronto Emergency Medical Services told CTV Toronto.

The Toronto Police collision reconstruction unit is investigating the incident and speaking with witnesses.
