A 13-year-old girl has sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Malvern on Wednesday, police said.
It happened at around 8:35 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Sheppard Avenue East at Gateforth Drive.
Police said when they arrived at the scene the girl was lying on the ground and drifting in and out of consciousness.
She was transported to SickKids hospital.
Witnesses at the scene told CP24 that the victim ran across the road to catch an eastbound TTC bus when she was stuck by a Honda going westbound.
The victim is believed to be a Grade 8 student at a nearby school.
The intersection at Sheppard Avenue East and Gateforth Drive has been closed and TTC routes are being redirected.
Investigators with Traffic Services are currently on the scene gathering evidence to determine a cause of the accident.
