A 35-year-old woman is dead after a machine-related industrial incident in Vaughan early Saturday morning.
The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, at CRS Plastics Ltd., near Steeles Avenue and Pine Valley Drive.
The incident happened at around 5 a.m.
CRS Plastics will be closed for the remainder of the weekend and police are interviewing the plant’s employees.
"The investigation is still at the early stages and given that we haven't notified next-of-kin, we really can't release any further information at this time," a police officer told reporters at the scene. "We will provide an update at a later time."
Ontario's Ministry of Labour has been called to investigate the incident.
