The video game world's busiest plumber is lacing up his skates in Mario Sports Mix, released this week for the Nintendo Wii.
Mario and his eclectic group of friends and foes have a chance to compete in hockey as well as volleyball, basketball and dodgeball.
But it wouldn't be a Mario game without some surprises. From shifting sands to tidal waves, sporting arenas can change in a split second, bringing with them new challenges or items you can toss at other players.
Each character has special traits as well. While fearsome Donkey Kong is big and strong, he's also much slower than most of his competition.
