Two teenagers face multiple charges after an 18-year-old was shot Tuesday morning following a robbery in Scarborough.
Toronto police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg after his cellphone was stolen around 9:30 a.m. in the Morningside and Sewells Avenues area after two 17-year-olds had asked him for the time.
After the robbery, the victim proceeded to chase the suspects, police said. Two shots were fired from a handgun.
The names of the suspects cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
One teenager faces eight counts, including robbery, careless use of a firearm and aggravated assault.
The other suspect is charged with robbery and failure to comply with a recognizance.
