Toronto police are searching for three female suspects after a teenage girl was shot in North York Sunday afternoon.

Police said the 15-year-old girl was shot once in the abdomen near the Baycrest Arena on Neptune Drive.

Witnesses told CTV Toronto's Tamara Cherry that the shooting happened just after 1:30 p.m. when a fight erupted among a small group of girls in the driveway to Baycrest Arena.

Cherry said the teen staggered across the street for help. The girl was found by paramedics and officers outside an apartment complex at 155 Neptune Dr. in the Ranee Avenue and Bathurst Street area, police said.

The teenage victim was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital where she is in stable condition, police said.

A description of the suspects has not been released but police said the ages range from 15 to 20.

Police said a weapon has not been located and they are still trying to notify the victim's family members.
