Two people are now in custody after a woman told police she was kidnapped at gunpoint in Vaughan on Saturday night.

The woman was in the area of Highway 27 and Langstaff Road at 10:30 p.m. when she was kidnapped at gunpoint by three male suspects and one female suspect, police said.

Police said the victim was driven to the area of Weston Road and Imogene Avenue in Toronto’s Emery neighbourhood where she was able to escape from her captors and report the incident to police.

On Monday, two suspects were arrested in Sudbury by the Greater Sudbury Police service but investigators said they are still looking for two others.

A suspect identified as Rasha Al-Enzi, 33, was charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, extortion and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

A second suspect identified as Trevor Smithen, 32, was charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, extortion, four counts of threatening death and use of an imitation firearm to commit an indictable offence.

Both appeared in court at College Park on Wednesday morning.

Police have not released a description of the wanted men but said they may be driving a grey 2016 Chevrolet Sonic with the license plate BZKN 727.
