TORONTO - Toronto FC reached its season-ticket sales cap of 16,000 for the second straight season, the Major League Soccer team announced Thursday.

The team also enjoyed a 95 per cent renewal rate from its subscribers, with 200 fans on the waiting becoming season-ticket holders.

"We're amazed at the support by our fans," said Paul Beirne, the club's senior director of business operations.

Toronto FC open the 2009 season on March 21 in Kansas City, with its home opener set for April 4 against the expansion Seattle Sounders FC.
