Three men from Toronto are facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of an Ottawa man, according to local police authorities.

The Toronto men were arrested hours after the body of 19-year-old Michael Swan was discovered inside his Ottawa home early Monday morning. Police caught up with the suspects on Highway 401, about15 kilometres east of Gananoque.

Const. J.P. Vincelette told CTV Ottawa that police received a 911 call about a home invasion at around 1 a.m. When police arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

Swan was rushed to hospital but doctors were unable to save his life. He is Ottawa's third homicide victim of the year.

Vincelette said police are still trying to piece together what happened inside the home and what led to the murder.

The three suspects charged in connection with the case have been identified as Kristopher Allan McLellan, 20, Dylon Tyrone Barnett, 19 and Kyle Mullen, 19.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to call Ottawa police at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS).
