Two Hamilton teenagers face more than 100 charges in connection with a vandalism rampage and fire at the Burlington Sailing Club that sunk three yachts.
The suspects, aged 13 and 15, are accused of burglarizing and ransacking 40 vessels at the LaSalle Park Marina on Wednesday. The pair is also charged with sinking three yachts that were set ablaze.
The total damage is estimated at more than $1 million.
After speaking with boat owners and witnesses, Halton Region investigators arrested the teens on Friday.
Each suspect faces 40 counts each of break-and-enter, five counts of arson and five counts of mischief over $5,000. The 13-year-old faces an additional two counts of breach of probation.
The teens, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, were in custody pending a bail hearing on Saturday in Milton Youth Court.
