Toronto police have arrested a suspect in connection with an alleged sexual assault at a TTC subway station in the city’s west end.

The incident occurred at Keele Subway Station at around 1:40 a.m. on Dec. 14.

According to police, both the suspect and victim were on the westbound platform when the suspect allegedly pulled the woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect fled on foot when a witness interrupted the assault, police said.

The woman sustained minor injuries in the incident. She did not know her assailant, police said.

Investigators previously released an image of a suspect in the hope of identifying him.

Police announced Tuesday that they made an arrest in the case on Dec. 18.

They said 35-year-old Michael Jonathan Laclef of Orleans, Ont. has now been charged with sexual assault.

Police are asking anyone with further information to reach out to investigators.
