Shooting in north Etobicoke sends 1 person to hospital

One person is in hospital after a shooting in north Etobicoke early Saturday morning, police say.

Officers were called to the area of Steeles Avenue West and Kipling Avenue at approximately 1:40 a.m.

Police said two people became involved in an argument at that time and shots were fired. A man in his 30s was shot and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A suspect was seen fleeing the area, but police did not provide a description.

The investigation is ongoing and several police officers and cruisers could be observed at the scene Saturday morning.
