Motorcyclist dead after 2-vehicle crash in Stouffville, Ont.: police

A 21-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Stouffville, Ont. early Saturday morning.

York Regional Police told CP24 that emergency crews were called to the area of Ninth Line and Hoover Park Drive at 3 a.m. for a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV.

The motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His identity has not been released.

Meanwhile, the SUV driver did not sustain any injuries and remained on the scene.

The cause of the crash is unknown.

Police said there is at least one “important witness” who fled the scene and is being urged to come forward to speak with investigators.

Roads in the area were closed for the investigation for most of the day and reopened later in the afternoon.
