A teenaged girl who was convicted in the death of 14-year-old Stefanie Rengel will have to wait until next week for her sentencing hearing.

The hearing was scheduled to take place today but was delayed until next Wednesday.

The convicted teen, known publicly as M.T. because she is a young offender, was convicted of first-degree murder in March.

A jury convicted the 17-year-old for goading her boyfriend into stabbing Rengel because she intensely jealous of the girl.

The teen's boyfriend, D.B., pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in April.

Rengel was stabbed to death by D.B. on New Year's Day 2008, steps away from her home in East York. The Grade 9 student and daughter of two Toronto police officers was stabbed six times.

A sentencing hearing for D.B. has been scheduled for June 25.

The crown is seeking adult sentences for both M.T. and D.B.
