TORONTO - A sentencing hearing for one of two people responsible for the New Year's Day 2008 murder of a 14-year-old Toronto girl has been delayed until Sept. 16.

A 19-year-old man, known only as D.B., has pleaded guilty to the stabbing death of Stefanie Rengel.

The daughter of two Toronto police officers was stabbed six times and left to die on a sidewalk near her east-end home.

D.B. had been ordered to undergo an evaluation by a forensic psychiatrist prior to sentencing.

The Crown successfully argued that a jealous 17-year-old girl known as M.T. used sexual blackmail to get her boyfriend to commit murder.

A sentencing hearing for M.T. was scheduled to start last month, but has been tentatively pushed back to mid-July.
