HASTINGS, Ont. - Provincial police say a 61-year-old Quebec man died when his plane crashed in a central Ontario forest.

Const. Phil Clarke says the plane reported missing on Monday was found in the Ganaraska Forest in southwestern Peterborough County on Thursday afternoon.

Clarke says the area where the plane crashed on its flight to Buttonville Airport in Markham, Ont., from St-Mathieu De Beloeil, Que., can't be reached by road.

Clarke says police are securing the crash area and expect Transportation Safety Board investigators to arrive on Friday.

Police say the plane was a Type AA5 Grumman four-seater, white with blue trim, with the identifying number of CFRRO.

Military aircraft from Trenton, Ont., the Canadian Coast Guard and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association were involved in the search.
