Police release photo of suspect vehicle in Scarborough drive-by shooting
Toronto police have released a photo of a suspect vehicle wanted in connection with the fatal drive-by shooting in Scarborough earlier this week.
The vehicle is described as a newer model white Honda CRV with dark rims. Police said it was seen driving around the Scarborough Village neighbourhood before the early Thursday morning shooting at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Markham Road.
Officers were notified about the incident just before 12:15 a.m.
Police said 34-year-old Adam Christopher Moncrieffe was walking in the area when he was shot by a suspect or suspects travelling in a vehicle.
Moncrieffe suffered critical injuries as a result and was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He is the city’s 83rd homicide victim of the year.
Meanwhile, the suspect vehicle fled and was last seen travelling south on Markham Road.
Investigators want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the vehicle. They are also looking for motorists with dashcam footage that may have captured the incident, asking them to contact 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) at www.222tips.com.
