The work week ended with a spree of violence, as three men were killed in separate incidents in the city's east end.

A 35-year-old man died in hospital early Saturday morning after being stabbed in the chest in an east-end apartment building.

The victim was found at around 10 p.m. lying lifeless in the third-floor hallway of a building on O'Connor Drive, near St. Clair Avenue East.

Darryl Debassige was rushed to Sunnybrook hospital but he succumbed to his injuries at around 5:30 a.m.

His death marked the third homicide in Toronto on Friday and the 77th murder of the year.

Hours earlier, a 25-year-old man was found gunned down in a parking lot on Sheppard Avenue.

Police responded to a call at about 8:45 p.m. at 5600 Sheppard Avenue, near Markham Road.

Investigators released few details about the case.

Earlier Friday afternoon, a young man was shot to death in Scarborough, near Birchmount Road and Sheppard Avenue.

The victim, believed to be about 19 years old, died after being taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to the chest and back. His identity has not been released.

Police believe he may have been ambushed.

One witness who lived at a townhouse across the street said she heard five gunshots. Police wouldn't say if the incident was gang related.

Tactical officers scoured the area for suspects, but no arrests were made. Investigators later found a gun inside a garbage can behind the strip mall.

Five schools in the area were locked down for a while as a precaution.
