Homicide detectives are investigating the city's fifth homicide of the year after a woman was stabbed in an early-morning dispute in North York.

Toronto police were called to a home near the Weston Road and Rogers Road area at about 4 a.m. to reports of an injured woman.

Officers found the lifeless body of a 37-year-old woman with stab wounds, police said.

Reports suggest she was fatally attacked in a domestic dispute.

The exact cause of death hasn't been determined. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.

The victim's name will not be released until her next of kin is notified.
