Toronto homicide detectives are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed at an east-end apartment building early Saturday morning.

Police were called to a building on Broadview Avenue near Dundas Street East shortly after 4 a.m. on reports of a loud fight.

When officers arrived at the building, a man without vital signs was found in one of the units. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the victim, who detectives have not been able to identify, may have been visiting a friend in the building. He is described as a man between 25 and 35 years of age.

"We are looking for any information from anyone in the community who knows who this person may be or why he may have been here," Det. Sgt. Graham Gibson told CP24.

"We believe people know him and it (is) just a matter of speaking to them and trying to figure out a name."
