Peel Regional Police have identified the man found shot to death in Mississauga late Thursday.

Dwayne Alexander Thompson, 32, was found with life-threatening wounds at the back of a residential building on Darcel Avenue, near Morning Star Drive and Highway 427, around 10:40 pm on Thursday.

Police had arrived at 7170 Darcel Ave. after several people called 911 with reports of gunfire. The Brampton man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also said Friday they are now searching for a vehicle associated with the victim: a 2007 Nissan Altima bearing the Ontario licence plate number BNCH 717. Anyone who spots the vehicle is being warned to call police instead of approaching it.
