Toronto police are asking anyone who may have had their vehicles struck by bullets during an Oct. 18 shootout at the First Choice restaurant that left one man dead.

"We have good video of the parking lot of the bar and in that video we have numerous cars. What we're missing is our projectiles," Det. Sgt. Pauline Gray told a Tuesday news conference. "It is reasonable to expect that many of those cars in the parking lot were shot and still contain the projectiles from ... more than one weapon."

Andre Daley, 29, would die in hospital after being struck by several bullets.

Daley and several other men were shot while outside First Choice restaurant, located in the Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue area, during the early morning hours of Oct. 18.

A rival group may have been waiting for them at the south end of the plaza where the restaurant is located.

Police arrived just after 3 a.m. and found three people at the scene, including Daley. Two more men made their way to the hospital themselves.

A dark-coloured van with obvious signs of damage was seen leaving the scene of the crime, authorities said at the time.

"We ask anyone who was parked in the parking lot that night or who was parked in the bar -- have a look at their vehicle. And if they see what what would be a gunshot in their car, call the police," Gray said, adding she estimated there would have been 20 vehicles in the parking lot.

Anyone who attended the First Choice Restaurant in the early morning hours of Sunday or otherwise has information about what happened is asked to contact police at 416−808−7400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416−222−TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and a message to CRIMES (274637).
