A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by the driver of a vehicle in North York late Thursday afternoon.

The collision happened in the Glen Long neighbourhood near Glencairn Avenue and Caledonia Road.

Toronto police said they were called to that area at 4:50 p.m. for reports that a pedestrian had been struck. They said that the victim’s injuries are serious, but nonlife-threatening.

Paramedics told CP24 that they believe the victim is an adult.

Police said that the driver remained at the scene.

Motorists are being advised to expect road closures in the area and delays.
