A Toronto-area parachutist is dead after attempting a daring mid-air stunt in Burlington Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. when the experienced parachutist jumped out of a plane. The man didn't experience any problems until he tried to perform a trick in mid air.
Spectators said he wasn't high enough and the trick caused him to crash to the ground.
He was rushed to Hamilton General Hospital by an air ambulance but emergency workers were unable to save the man from succumbing to his injuries.
The matter is being investigated.
