There is currently no GO train service east of Pickering Station following a train disablement Friday night, according to GO Transit.

The issue occurred late last night west of Whitby after crews noticed a pressure loss due to a puncture in a fuel tank, Metrolinx representative Anne Marie Aikins says.

Approximately 110 passengers were aboard the train at the time and had to be rescued by fire crews. All passengers were off the train by 3 a.m., according to Aikins.

Cleanup crews are currently working at the site to address the fuel spill.

Commuters travelling to or from Ajax, Whitby or Oshawa will be accommodated by GO buses.

Service is expected to be impacted for the duration of the day, Aikins says.
