Police have released details of a suspect and vehicle connected to the murder investigation of a man gunned down outside Toronto's Don Jail.
Eric Boateng, 21, was fatally shot outside the east-end facility on Oct. 21 minutes after visiting an inmate.
Investigators have received new information about an SUV spotted in the area at the time of the shooting.
The vehicle is described as a blue Buick Rendezvous, with silver trim and tinted windows. The partial license plate is BCDA (the last three digits are unknown).
According to witness information, the shooter got out of the vehicle before opening fire. The SUV was last seen driving north on Broadview Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle is described as male, black, between 20 and 30 years old with a shaved head. There were one or two other men inside the Rendezvous.
Police say the shooter fled on foot after pulling the trigger, and he ran south on Hamilton Street before entering a housing complex on Donmount Court. He is described as black, in his 20s, 5-foot-8 with a medium build, short black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and a black belt with silver buckle.
Police have not released a motive in the slaying. It was learned last week that Boateng was arrested in the murder investigation of Jane Creba. He pleaded guilty on a drug charge and was released from custody in early August.
Police are asking for the public's help identifying the vehicle and the suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or go online at www.222tips.com.
Boateng is the city's 70th homicide victim of 2007.
