Peel Regional Police are investigating after a man was shot on a Brampton street late Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to an area near Morton Way and Talon Gate shortly after 4:30 p.m. for reports of gunshots being fired.
Paramedics arrived on scene to find the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Initial reports from first responders suggest the victim is a man who may be in his 50s and who appeared to have been shot in his stomach and arm. He was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The incident forced Morton Way Public School to be placed in lockdown as a precaution.
Police have not released any information pertaining to potential suspects.
