A man in his 30s has been arrested a week after a victim was sent to hospital after a North York shooting.

The shooting occurred in a parking lot in the Jane Street and Wilson Avenue area at approximately 3 a.m. on June 12.

The victim was standing outside his car in the parking lot, when another car pulled up nearby. A man emerged from the car and shot the victim before quickly fleeing the scene.

The victim, who had been hit several times, drove himself to hospital for treatment.

A week after the shooting, police announced that a 31-year-old Toronto man had been arrested. Orrell Martin Higgins, also known as Orrell Segree, has been charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm endangering a life. Higgins has also been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm and possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized.

Police announced Friday that they are looking for a vehicle involved in the shooting -- a silver Dodge Caliber with aluminum rims on three wheels. The fourth wheel, on the front passenger’s side, was a black spare tire and rim.
